KONSTANTY
KULKA is a passionate virtuoso violinist, but never for the sake of
virtuosity. There is sheer joy and beauty in his playing. He is as good
in Glazunov, Mendelssohn-Bartholdy as in Vivald.
This is Muza SX 1254 on which he performs the Violin Concerto of Miescyslaw KARLOWICZ. It is Opus 8 and his only concerto. Mieczyslaw Karlowicz died very youngwhen he was in his early thirties while on an excursion in the Tatra mountains in an avalanche in 1909. Witold Rowicki conducts the National Philharmonic Symphony Orchestra. Also on this record is "The White Dove" by KARLOWICZ. The record is Excellent. The cover is VG+. $ 25. |
